i had a dream where my sister and i are in a house that belongs to some other girl. we are only supposed to be in one room but the moment the girl left the house we started exploring the house. we went to the kitchen and laundry room first and the laundry room looked weird like the new clothes were folded and put in a shelf near the machine. I told my sister not to explore anymore. my sister wanted to light her cigarette (she doesn’t smoke in real life) and went to this other room and that’s where the girl (owner of the house) was sitting on a chair and her back was facing us and we had a jump scare but i couldn’t control laughing as the girl was at home all along. my sister and i went back to the room. That’s when my flatmate called me for a party. We went downstairs and there was a limo. my flatmate and few of her friends were in the limo waiting for us. My sister and i got inside the limo. My flatmate was dressed differently from everyone. She was wearing a salwar kameez and dupatta. There was this dude sitting between my flatmate and i and he was being very weird with me. he was offering me cigarettes. even though i smoke in real life, in my dream my flatmate was stopping him from giving me a cigarette. I took one anyway and when i turned towards my sister who was sitting beside me, she smoked her cigarette already. An old uncle (in his 60s) was sitting beside my sister and they were talking. When i saw him i recognized him and i told him that we met at his place when i visited him with my father. first he didn’t recognize and then he did. While we were talking my flatmate said let’s all walk and we agreed. We started walking on the road. The road had vehicles coming and going but I wouldn’t call it busy. My sister and I were walking side by side that’s when i have saw my flatmate’s knee was hurt and when i asked what happened she gave a very weird reply saying it she got hurt with a ladle on her head or something like that. I asked my sister how’s that even possible and she gave a very vague reply. That’s when i noticed my college friends started walking with us. So it was me, my sister, my flatmate, her friends and my college friends (who are my closest friends). We all were walking and that’s when we saw a wedding bhaarat or dance and it was very weird. The bride was standing in the front surrounded by people and her veil made of jasmines was on her head and it was extended to an auto that was right behind her. the auto was also covered in the same veil. The family i’m guessing was dancing behind that auto and then comes the chariot and i think the groom was on that. We decided to crash the bhaarat and dance. We started dancing and they played Baby by Justin Bieber it was like a club on the road. I wanted to record it but the song was over. The camera guy and few other people asked us to get on this accumulation of few rocks on the side of the road so they could get a good video and we did that. we started dancing to bollywood songs and the videographer started recording us and i asked him to stop as we weren’t invited to the wedding but he continued to do so. My friends and i continued dancing. We went a little further near the chariot and that’s when we saw people were eating food. one of friends said that we should also have some but i said it’s too much we shouldn’t. Meanwhile my friend Harshita and that weird dude who sat beside me in the limo kept calling me. I was cutting the call or I was lifting the call and let it be for a bit and then cut the call. I was in no mood to talk to people. We thought of going back as my other friends started moving forward leaving the dance so the few of us who were dancing thought it would be a better idea to leave as well. That’s when i bump into guys. they kinda look alike and one of them was this dude i worked with and made out during the office party and I kinda liked him back then but we stopped talking well he said he’ll take me out on a date but he didn’t and now i don’t regret it cause he seemed kinda like a loser. Anyway, he caught my hand and so did his friend who kinda looked like him which was weird also caught my hand. but his friend let it go after i told him to let go. But this dude didn’t and asked him to leave my hand even though i didn’t want him to leave my hand. After asking 3-4 times left my hand and we started talking. I asked him not to talk to me but he said kept on talking. he held my hand again and said see we met again maybe we should date now. i said what? he said remember we agreed that next time when we meet at any weird situations we should start dating. We never agreed on something like that and I called his bluff. I told him i was livid and asked him to let me go. That’s when my friends came to me said Harshita (my best friend) is here and she asking for you. I was like what? I went to the place where all of my friends were standing. everybody looked like they cried. They all looked like they heard something sad. I stood in front of Harshita and he hugged me immediately. One of my other best friends anushka even though she dislikes harshita she consoled her. Anushka told harshita your mom is in a better place now. I understood what happened but still i decided to play pretend. Idk why? I kept on asking what happened. Harshita and I started running towards a different place and everyone followed us there. To get there first we ran through a nursery and then we reached this open place where it felt like the top of a small mountain. even though i know what happened i kept on asking what happened. I asked my friend anushka what happened and she said i’m not telling you. Harshita yelled why mom why? and fell down on her knees that’s when i stopped pretending and started crying with her. she hugged me tight. All of my friends surrounded us. We all were crying. I lifted harshita off the ground and i made her stand up. I hugged her immediately and so tightly. As she was hugging me I lifted her off the ground and started walking. We decided to back to my home. We reached home( i have never seen that house ever in my life). It was sister, me and harshita who left for my home. When i got down the car i realized that dude from earlier with whom i made out at the office party was waiting. I was shocked. I asked him to come upstairs (as my parents aren’t home) before anyone would see him. He came upstairs. I asked Harshita to wait in my room. I told her I’ll get water. I asked this dude what is he doing here and he said i came to get you back. i said it was too late now and he should leave and he held my hand again. I asked him not be crazy and leave that’s when my parents came home. I lost my shit. Even though I was bummed that i couldn’t hear him out entirely I had to make him leave before my parents saw him. My mom and I went inside my room and I told her what happened. Harshita was sitting there and crying. At first my mom had sympathy and she was being nice but then in a few seconds she started being so mean to Harshita. for some reason she was taking shots at her. I asked my mom to cut it. I tried changing Harshita’s clothes and i started pulling everything from my cupboard and it annoyed my mom. Idk why when i started searching for clothes I pulled out clothes that I haven’t seen in years. It was crazy. My mom was super annoyed that I pulled out so many clothes and she started taunting. Harshita felt very bad and she replied something fitting to my mom. I started changing Harshita’s clothes and i asked my mom to close the door and leave. She was like wait I have to clean this and that, why should i leave as soon as you ask me to. The thing is my mom is like this in real life as well. It annoyed the living fuck out of me. My left and my dad came in when a servant and went to the balcony to do something i don’t remember. He asked us to leave because he wanted the servant to change the bedsheet on my bed. Weirdly in real life my dad has never done such a thing ever in his life. He is a typical indian dad who doesn’t believe in men doing household chores. My dad left and I closed the door for good and I started changing harshita’s clothes. When i was helping her put the top (i have never seen that top ever before) I hurt her piercings on her ears and she started crying really badly and i felt very bad for her. She was crying her eyes out and i kept apologizing to her. That’s when my mom came back and she started taunting again. but she also gave coconut oil to apply on the affected area. I scooped some to apply but she got scared and said no but she asked me to apply on her hands and legs and that’s when she seemed relaxed a bit. The entire time my mom taunting something or the other and I was livid. Harshita was giving it back tho. good for her. there was some coconut oil left in my hands and i asked her if i can put on her ear piercings and she’ll feel some relief and she said okay. The moment I touched it she started crying loudly. I consoled her and got her calm down again. My mom and harshita started arguing and I apologized to Harshita and said we’ll go somewhere else. My mom talked about dish and Harshita said she wants it from her place as it’s authentic over there. She said she wants it from Ranchi, Jharkhand. In real life Harshita is from Doha, Qatar and she has never ever been to Ranchi. When we went to the Kitchen few of my friends were in the Kitchen. The kitchen resembles the apartment I live in currently. While we were doing something. My mom said something very mean and i started yelling at her. That’s when harshita replied “leave it resh, it’s ok! i don’t expect a women like her to understand” and then we went back to discussing when she’s gonna leave for ranchi. That’s the end of my weird dream. help me analyze and interpret it
Dreams can be complex, often reflecting our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Your dream is rich in detail and offers numerous layers of meaning. Here’s an interpretation based on the various elements and themes presented in your dream:
The dream starts with you and your sister exploring a house that doesn’t belong to you. This may symbolize a desire to explore new possibilities or aspects of your life that feel foreign or restricted. The fact that you were supposed to stay in one room may indicate unacknowledged boundaries or social norms you feel pressured to conform to. The curiosity and subsequent exploration represent a natural yearning for knowledge and the urge to break free from constraints.
Your sister lighting a cigarette, despite not being a smoker in real life, could signify conflict or duality in identity, perhaps reflecting pressures you or she feel to conform to certain behaviors or roles. The presence of the other characters urging you to refrain from smoking, despite you engaging in it, suggests internal conflict regarding societal expectations and personal autonomy.
The limo and the party atmosphere symbolize social gatherings, camaraderie, and perhaps a desire for acceptance within your peer group. The odd interactions with your flatmate and the awkwardness with the man from your past may reflect underlying feelings about romantic connections and how they intersect with friendships. His persistence in holding your hand could indicate unresolved feelings or past attachments that linger in your thoughts.
The wedding party represents celebration, joy, and communal bonding but also introduces chaos into your life. Crashing the wedding and dancing might symbolize a desire to seek out joyful, spontaneous experiences, despite the societal taboos or rules that normally govern behavior in social situations. The mix of Bollywood and club music could reflect your cultural identity and the blending of influences in your life.
The emotional climax of the dream appears when your friend Harshita brings forth a deep sense of loss. The shift from celebration to mourning symbolizes how quickly life can turn from joy to sadness. The collective mourning process with friends suggests the importance of community and support during tough times. Your enactment of pretending not to know reflects a human tendency to avoid confronting pain directly, either for fear of discomfort or to maintain a facade of strength for others.
The interactions with your mother highlight unresolved issues or tensions in your relationship. Your mother’s behavior mirrored what you may already experience in real life — her seeming unsympathetic or critical stance can represent your conflicts regarding autonomy and expectations. This reflects inner struggles with parental expectations and personal desires.
Your attempt to help Harshita while causing her pain symbolizes duality in care and harm, which is common in intimate relationships where care can slip into discomfort or frustration. Your efforts to soothe her further reflect a desire to heal and mend, even amidst tensions. The coconut oil can symbolize care and healing, representing the desire to comfort both yourself and your friends.
Overall, this dream encompasses themes of exploration, autonomy, social dynamics, loss, parental relationships, and the complexities of human connection. It may indicate a phase of your life where you are navigating new social experiences while dealing with emotional issues. Many elements resonate with feelings of insecurity and the need for acceptance, both within friendships and familial relationships.
Reflecting on these themes in your waking life can encourage personal growth. Consider the following:
